ONION CAKE!!!!!!
Actually a pie, and made of steamed onions, diced bacon,
cream and caraway seeds on a yeast or leavened dough.
Caraway seeds come from the caraway plant. Another name is
the Persian Cumin
Popular in Rhenishe Hesse, Palatinate, Franconia, Baden and
Swabia.
Traditionally eaten in Basen during the Carnival and Bern
during Zibelmarit (onion market!!!!)
